With this brief, I set out to produce vinyl covers that combine the feel of both Elbow (an indie pop band) and Festival. This felt like quite a contradiction of style through most of the project until I manipulated an image of a crowd member in the style of Shepard Fairey. Here I had reduced graphic elements that could be manipulated with textures and colour to combine the desired effect.
The outcome is a combination of vectorised photography (produced by a combination of effects in Photoshop) to bring the energy of a festival, foiling to apply a shine and a luxury feel to the outcome, the type which is serifed and sharp and a textural overlay reducing the quality of the imagery to allow for that indie feel.
